Danica McKellar is totally legit. Not only has she been in multiple movies and starred in the television series The Wonder Years, but McKellar is also an accomplished female mathematician. She graduated from UCLA with a degree in mathematics and helped co-author a groundbreaking mathematical physics theorem. After graduation, she focused on her acting career and starred in the fourth season of The West Wing. She’s also made guest appearances in How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. After spending time in Hollywood, McKellar wanted to return to STEM fields and help break the stereotype surrounding girls in math. She has written several New York Times bestsellers, including “Math Doesn’t Suck: How to Survive Middle School Math Without Losing Your Mind or Breaking a Nail,” “Kiss My Math: Showing Pre-Algebra Who’s Boss,” “Hot X: Algebra Exposed!,” and “Girls Get Curves: Geometry Takes Shape” to teach girls you don’t have to be a “nerd” to love math, or any STEM subject for that matter.
