She graduated from UCLA with a degree in mathematics and helped co-author a groundbreaking mathematical physics theorem. After graduation, she focused on her acting career and starred in the fourth season of The West Wing. She’s also made guest appearances in How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory. After spending time in Hollywood, McKellar wanted to return to STEM fields and help break the stereotype surrounding girls in math.
